If indeed they invade our country,
we will be ready to die in battle!

It seems that these kind of billboards in some regions are to be found more often than in other regions. As if in some regions the people are more revolutionary minded then in other parts. You won't find out very easily. The Cuban is very aloof as it comes to political discussions and when discussing these matters it is hard to establish whether the opinions are honest or merely political correct. Most Cubans however, seem to be pretty proud of their revolution and convinced of the bad intentions of the United States. But dissidents have to shut their mouths, as our member of parliament Boris Dietrich found out this year when he immediately was put on the plane back to Holland when he came to interview dissidents (spring 2005).
Another striking event: March 2005 by special ordain Fidel Castro prohibited the people renting rooms to foreigners to have discussions about anything else then the price of the room or the food. How that is to be checked? Neighbours have to play a major role there. This actually is the atmosphere you can pick up in Cuba after having spent a little more time out of the resorts.
